PIRATE POINT: Issue 1
A downloadable fanzine
PIRATE POINT is a queer punk fanzine centered around the LGBTQIA+ Battletech community, and was created to provide a place for fans of stompy robots to express ourselves. It is 100% free, made by fans for fans, and has no affiliation with Topps or Catalyst Game Labs.
Battletech leads with fiction as the heart and soul of the franchise. Fans of Battletech often create stories of their own mercenaries, pirates and even planets, but too often these stories go unrecorded and forgotten. PIRATE POINT is an exhibition and record of those fans and their creativity. Beyond just short stories, PIRATE POINT features art, painted models and more with each edition, giving us a chance to celebrate the unique width and breadth of Battletech as a multimedia fandom.
PIRATE POINT Issue #1 is our first foray, compiled from various writers and artists who volunteered their work. We hope this first issue demonstrates what is possible when fans come together, inspires new queer and ally fans to get into Battletech, and encourages greater participation in future PIRATE POINT issues and beyond!
PIRATE POINT is available in three editions: Print-Ready, Digital, and Accessibility. The Print-Ready edition has been constructed for US Letter and folds as a 5.5x8.5 booklet in the spirit of a true punk zine. Instructions for printing have been included as a separate download.
Pirate Point is presented by Star League, Battletech's premier LGBTQIA+ discord server! We've been working hard to bring more people into Battletech through the power of inclusivity. Join us today!
